The cover of the 1979 debut album by the British post–punk rock band Joy Division featured iconic artwork by Peter Saville, which was based on an image of radio waves from this, the first pulsar to be discovered, which was later named CP 1919. The image was created at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico.
